Product Description
The Roadmaster 751000 is a universal infrared brake light switch for flat-towed vehicles. It mounts to the brake pedal arm under the dash and uses a beam of infrared light to detect pedal movement. When a supplemental braking system pushes the pedal down, the switch signals that the brakes have been applied, so a motorhome brake monitor can show the towed vehicle's braking activity.
It's a good solution when the towed vehicle's factory brake light switch can't be used for monitoring. Wiring is simple: just three wires connect to power, ground and the brake light wire, and an LED pulse confirms the system is active.
Compatibility
- Any vehicle with a brake pedal
- Any supplemental braking system that moves the brake pedal

Pro tipSupplemental braking: what to know
- Often required by law. Most U.S. states and Canadian provinces require brakes on a towed vehicle above a certain weight, and towing equipment makers generally expect one.
- Match your motorhome. Some systems are designed for coaches with air brakes and others for hydraulic brakes — check which your RV has.
- Portable vs. permanently installed. Portable units move between cars; installed systems are quicker to hook up day to day.
