Product Description
The Roadmaster 9530 is a universal wireless brake monitor for flat towing. It works with any supplemental braking system that pushes or pulls on the towed vehicle's brake pedal, and lets the driver see from the motorhome when the towed vehicle's brakes are being applied. A transmitter in the towed vehicle connects to the brake light switch and sends brake status to a receiver in the motorhome.
The receiver lights up whenever the towed vehicle's brakes are on and sounds an alarm if the brakes stay applied too long. It also alerts you to low towed-vehicle battery voltage and gives visual and audible alarms in a breakaway. Nothing needs to be installed in the motorhome: the receiver plugs into a 12-volt outlet.
Compatibility
- Any supplemental braking system that pushes or pulls on the brake pedal
On some vehicles, the factory brake light switch only works with the engine running, and an aftermarket brake light switch may be needed. Contact us with your vehicle year, make and model if you're not sure.

Pro tipSupplemental braking: what to know
- Often required by law. Most U.S. states and Canadian provinces require brakes on a towed vehicle above a certain weight, and towing equipment makers generally expect one.
- Match your motorhome. Some systems are designed for coaches with air brakes and others for hydraulic brakes — check which your RV has.
- Portable vs. permanently installed. Portable units move between cars; installed systems are quicker to hook up day to day.
