Product Description
The Roadmaster 52357-5 is a direct-connect base plate kit made for the 2016–2019 Nissan Versa and Nissan Versa Note. A base plate mounts to the towed vehicle's frame behind the front bumper and gives a motorhome-mounted tow bar a strong, vehicle-specific attachment point for flat towing. With the direct-connect design, the tow bar attaches directly to the base plate's removable tabs, eliminating the need for a crossbar, which makes hooking up and disconnecting quicker.
Roadmaster recommends this direct-connect style for motorhome-mounted tow bars, with the exception of the Sterling. Trimming of the spoiler, air dam, grille or plastic fascia may be required on some models. To complete a flat-towing setup, pair the base plate with a compatible tow bar, safety cables, a towed-vehicle wiring kit and a supplemental braking system. Always confirm in your owner's manual that your vehicle can be flat towed and follow its towing procedure.

Pro tipBefore you order a base plate
- Match year, make, model and trim. Base plates are vehicle-specific, and trims with adaptive cruise, front sensors or a different bumper often need a different plate.
- Confirm your vehicle can be flat towed. Check the “recreational towing” section of the owner’s manual — not every car, transmission or drivetrain can be towed four-down.
- Mixing brands needs an adapter. Base plate and tow bar brands use different connection styles (for example, a Blue Ox base plate with a Roadmaster tow bar). We’ll tell you exactly which adapter you need.
