Product Description
The Roadmaster 521456-5 is an EZ5 Series direct-connect base plate kit listed for the 2018–2025 Jeep Wrangler JL and 2026 Jeep Wrangler. A base plate mounts to the towed vehicle's frame behind the front bumper and gives a motorhome-mounted tow bar a strong, vehicle-specific attachment point for flat towing. With the EZ5 design, the tow bar attaches directly to the base plate's removable tabs, so no crossbar is needed, and the tabs come off when you're not towing.
Roadmaster makes several base plates for the Wrangler JL, and the right one depends on your bumper and any winch or accessories. - Match year, make, model and trim. Base plates are vehicle-specific, and trims with adaptive cruise, front sensors or a different bumper often need a different plate.
- Confirm your vehicle can be flat towed. Check the “recreational towing” section of the owner’s manual — not every car, transmission or drivetrain can be towed four-down.
- Mixing brands needs an adapter. Base plate and tow bar brands use different connection styles (for example, a Blue Ox base plate with a Roadmaster tow bar). We’ll tell you exactly which adapter you need.
