Product Description
The Roadmaster 674 is a pair of 80-inch coiled-to-straight safety cables for flat towing. Each cable has a straight section that can be routed through the safety cable channel on most tow bars, and a coiled section that extends and contracts as you drive and for storage. Safety cables connect the motorhome to the towed vehicle as a backup to the tow bar, and safety cables or chains are required by law for most towing setups.
The cables are aircraft-type galvanized steel with a vinyl coating that helps keep them from scratching or chipping the tow bar, and they're fitted with heavy-duty drop-forged steel snap hooks with spring-loaded latches.
Compatibility
- Flat towing setups using a tow bar and base plate; the straight section suits tow bars with a safety cable channel
Always match the safety cable rating to your towed vehicle's weight. Contact us to confirm the rating and hook configuration of this set for your setup before ordering.

Pro tipTow bar setup tips
- Rating first. The tow bar’s capacity must be higher than your towed vehicle’s loaded weight.
- Keep it close to level. Tow bar makers specify how far the motorhome hitch and the base plate connection can be apart in height — use a rise or drop receiver to bring them in range (see your tow bar’s instructions).
- Check base plate compatibility. Different brands connect differently; mixing brands requires the right adapter.
