Product Description

The Demco 6272 is a replacement reed switch assembly for the Demco Air Force One supplemental braking system (6210), the air-actuated towed-vehicle braking system for motorhomes with air brakes. The reed switch is the magnetic sensor switch on the system's brake actuator that signals brake activation to the system's indicator, so you can tell from the driver's seat when the towed vehicle's brakes are being applied.

Replace it if your Air Force One indicator stops working or stays on constantly and the switch has been identified as the cause.

Pro tipSupplemental braking: what to know

  • Often required by law. Most U.S. states and Canadian provinces require brakes on a towed vehicle above a certain weight, and towing equipment makers generally expect one.
  • Match your motorhome. Some systems are designed for coaches with air brakes and others for hydraulic brakes — check which your RV has.
  • Portable vs. permanently installed. Portable units move between cars; installed systems are quicker to hook up day to day.
