  • Match year, make, model and trim. Base plates are vehicle-specific, and trims with adaptive cruise, front sensors or a different bumper often need a different plate.
  • Confirm your vehicle can be flat towed. Check the “recreational towing” section of the owner’s manual — not every car, transmission or drivetrain can be towed four-down.
  • Mixing brands needs an adapter. Base plate and tow bar brands use different connection styles (for example, a Blue Ox base plate with a Roadmaster tow bar). We’ll tell you exactly which adapter you need.

Tow bar mounting brackets are installed on your vehicle's frame to provide attachment points for your tow bar. ROADMASTER manufactures more than a thousand vehicle-specific tow bar mounting brackets, in a variety of styles. (More than one bracket style may be offered for any particular vehicle; however, not every style is available for every vehicle).
