Proportional Braking for Air-Brake Motorhomes

Air Force One uses the motorhome's air-brake signal to control braking in the towed vehicle. This allows the towed vehicle's braking effort to follow the coach braking input rather than relying on an adjustable inertia-based system.

The system consists of three primary components: the Operating Unit, Actuator, and Coach Air Assembly. The operating unit mounts under the hood of the towed vehicle and provides vacuum for power-brake assist as well as reserve air for the breakaway circuit. The actuator mounts at the towed vehicle's brake pedal, while the Coach Air Assembly integrates with the motorhome's air-brake system.

Total Coach Protection

Demco's Total Coach Protection system is designed to isolate and protect the motorhome's air supply. In the event of a separation between the motorhome and towed vehicle, the system is designed to seal the coach air supply while activating the towed vehicle's breakaway braking system.
