The Demco 6227 Smart Car Bracket is designed to install the actuating cylinder from a Demco Air Force One (AFO) or Stay-IN-Play DUO supplemental braking system in a compatible Smart car.

Smart cars use a unique floor-mounted brake-pedal configuration that can make conventional actuator mounting difficult. The Demco 6227 provides an adapter bracket and extension that allow the braking-system actuator to connect to the floor-mounted brake pedal while helping prevent interference with normal brake-pedal operation during everyday driving.

Specialized Smart Car Brake Actuator Mounting

Demco Air Force One and Stay-IN-Play DUO supplemental braking systems use an actuating cylinder to operate the towed vehicle's brake pedal. In a conventional vehicle, the cylinder can typically be attached to the brake-pedal arm without interfering with normal driving.

Smart cars use a different brake-pedal design that extends upward from the floorboard. Directly positioning the actuator on this configuration can interfere with the driver's foot movement. The Demco 6227 adapter bracket provides the additional mounting arrangement necessary to properly position the actuator for this application.
